About the Pride

The Pride of the Wildcats from Davie, Florida comprise the instrumental music department at Western High School. The program has a long-standing tradition dating back to the early-1980's and has continuously provided a high-quality education to its students, and energetic and emotional performances to audiences both regionally and nationally. Pride of the Wildcats member's have been proven leaders and musicians by constantly becoming mentors, business owners, entrepreneurs, and continuing musicians throughout the nation in highly ranked colleges, corporations, and communities.

Members of the Pride are consistently ranked within the top-percentiles of their classes both at Western High and in College and are some of the most involved students with many members participating in multiple sports, clubs, and activities in and out of school.

Our Mission

Behind the Show

The ensembles at Western High School rely on more than just the performance at hand, and work hard to build character, fundamentals of achievement, and relationships within the members, staff, and parent support teams. Everyone plays a role within the program, and everyone is just as important as the next. We are constantly looking for new members, and more parents and volunteers to help. So if you are interested, please contact us directly for more information and help support the Pride of the Wildcats!

Our belief that the education of each and every student within the musical program at Western High School is paramount and essential to the development of a well-rounded member of society. Our mission is to provide more than just a musical experience; Members are taught responsibility, leadership, unity, family, problem-solving skills, and how to be consistent and achieve excellence every chance that they have. Our program is unique in that every student is held to the same standard regardless of their musical experience, and the proper tools and knowledge are provided to allow all students the same opportunities and skills. No student has been turned away because they cannot play, and no student has been denied a place within an ensemble because they lack the experience.
