Indoor Percussion

Thank you for your continued support of the band at Western HS, and we look forward to many great things to come. This year we have decided to participate in an activity known as Indoor Percussion (WGI), and we would like to provide the information listed below to you so there is clarity in regards to what the activity is, the dates, and any costs associated with participating.

Rehearsals

 

Practices will be on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4pm to 7:30pm (please make sure you check your calendar periodically for times on longer practice/camp days). THERE WILL BE ADDITION TIMES ADDED TO THE CALENDAR WHEN NEEDED. These three days will not be the only days that I will need the performers. There will be selected Saturdays added to the calendar (please see calendar for further details) so that the performers will be ready for their competition. The two days were picked to accommodate to the performer’s schedules and mine as well. IT IS MANDATORY THAT ALL PERFORMERS MUST BE AT EVERY PRATICE. EVERY PRATICE!!!

Fees + Fundraising

The fee for the 2019 Season covers the cost of circuit/competition entry fees, instruction/designer costs, custom music arrangements, drill design, and includes a uniform (that the students are allowed to keep at the end of the season). Students WILL be responsible for the proper shoes, which will be determined after the show announcement and chosen to fit both the physical and visually demands of the show. All fees are collected and based on a "FAIR-SHARE" system which allows us to provide the best possible opportunities for every student by making sure each student helps with their equal portion of the total budget cost for the season. There are multiple opportunities for fundraising and payment plans. If there is any need or circumstances that arise or in regards to the fees, please communicate directly with the director, a band booster board member, or with the head percussion instructor.

 

 

Transportation + Dates
Transportation to these performance sites will be in the use of parent/guardian involvement. The reason being because the county will not supply any school buses for free and the fees for school bus drivers are: $500.00 per competition. Competition sites include the following:

 

January 26th, 2019 | FFCC Premier | John I. Leonard HS

February 16th, 2019 | FFCC Local Show | Everglades HS

March 2nd, 2019 |  FFCC Local Show | Jupiter HS

March 30th, 2019 | FFCC State Championships | Ocean Center, Daytona Beach

 

ALL COMPETITIONS TAKES PLACE ON SATURDAY(s).

December 3rd - 7pm to 7:30pm | January 16th - 7pm to 7:30pm | February 4th - 7pm to 7:30pm

2022 Winterguard Payment Schedule

Payment dates:
• Monday, December 17th, 2021: $125.00
•Wednesday, January 9th, 2022: $75.00
• Monday, February 4th, 2022: $100.00

• Wednesday, March 6th, 2022: $75.00


*The entire fee of $375.00 must be in no later than the end of March 11, 2022.

*If there are any concerns with paying on these due dates, please contact Eric Levy or a booster board member at western.bandparent@gmail.com to work out a payment system that will accommodate to you.
